What to do when it rains in Temecula Wine Country?

Marcie and I weren't going to let a little rain get in the way of enjoying some vino. We decided to hit up a couple places that have plenty of delicious wine and indoor space.

Our first stop was Akash Winery. With a fun swanky vibe and music, Marcie enjoyed the Blend 75. A Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which warmed her up on a cold rainy day. The nose was cherries and floral aromas. The palate was baking spice, chocolate, and rich ripe plum. PJ went for the estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of black pepper and blue flowers and a nice punch of tannins and flavors of blueberries, blackberries and vanilla on the finish.

Next we visited Peltzer Winery. They have a huge indoor area, but we couldn't pass up the views of the front porch. In our opinion they have a Top 5 Cabernet Franc in Temecula Valley that Marcie couldn't resist. Earth notes on the nose, with that blend of blue and black fruit. On the palate it's a beautiful balance of acids, tannins and fruit with just a touch of pyrazine bringing out that green pepper that we love so much. PJ went for the big Petite Sirah. Dark rich fruit from start to a long finish and soft tannins that keep you coming back for more.
